WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon is considered by some to be the best villain in wrestling history, something which long-time face of the company turned Hollywood superstar John Cena agrees with.
Cena was the latest guest featured on the Amazon Original podcast “That Scene with Dan Patrick”, during which Cena discusses his appearance in the Amy Schumer film ‘Trainwreck’ as well as similarities between his acting and WWE careers.
Discussing Vince McMahon’s WWE empire and the Mr. McMahon character, Cena said:
“This is his thing and he took it from being a regional thing to national and then global. He gets it because he created it. So like the way he walks, the way he talks, you know. His run as the chairman in the middle of the Attitude Era and evil Vince, he’s made for it. And he gets it. He puts ego and self aside and goes out there and gives everything to it.”
Cena has appeared in three films this year including ‘F9’, ‘Suicide Squad’, and the most recent of the trio, ‘Vacation Friends’ released Aug. 27. Cena last appeared for WWE at SummerSlam Aug. 21.
