On last night’s episode of WWE NXT, the show ended with Ridge Holland and Pete Dunne ambushing Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan.
The four men had previously been in a faction together, and this has led to a lot of speculation about what this could mean going forward.
This was the last NXT before next week’s live rebranding, and it’s clear that Ridge Holland is someone who fits the mold of “young and big”, which is supposedly what Vince McMahon wants there to be an emphasis on from now on.
Meanwhile, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch, in comparison to Holland, aren’t big, and they’re both older than Holland and Dunne too.
The attack took place after Lorcan and Burch were unsuccessful in their NXT Tag Team Championship match against defending champions MSK.
Lorcan and Burch were champions before MSK, but had to vacate the title several months ago due to an injury to Burch.
On next week’s NXT, Dunne will be part of a four-way to determine Samoa Joe’s next challenger for the NXT Championship, along with LA Knight, Kyle O’Reilly and Tommaso Ciampa.
So, is there something to read into when it comes to the finish to last night’s show? It seems like we’ll just have to wait and find out next Tuesday.
