Here’s who came up with the idea of FTR, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood, winning the AAA Tag Team Championship from the Lucha Brothers.
FTR won the title on the October 16 episode of Dynamite, with the storyline being that Andrade El Idolo paid Pinnacle leader MJF for their services, since he wanted to take the title away from the Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero M and Rey Fenix).
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s being reported that FTR winning the AAA Tag Title was an idea from AEW President Tony Khan, who went to AAA with the idea, and evidently they accepted it.
As we covered yesterday, the plan is for Vickie Guerrero to manage FTR in AAA, not Tully Blanchard. FTR and Guerrero will be at the upcoming AAA tapings on November 4.
A big match that is potentially in the works for the December 4 Regia show is Wheeler and Harwood defending the title in a three-way against the Lucha Brothers and Dragon Lee & Dralistico.
