WWE taped the February 18 edition of SmackDown following the most recent episode (Februsary 11) due to WWE talents needing to travel to Saudi Arabia ahead of Saturday’s Elimination Chamber event.
During the taping, the teams of Ronda Rousey & Naomi, and Charlotte Flair & Sonya Deville, met in the ring for a contract signing. The two sides will do battle at Elimination Chamber, ahead of Rousey challenging Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 38.
Footage has emerged from the segment, featuring Rousey awkwardly slamming Flair’s head into the table in the ring. Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is set to edit this contract signing segment.
WWE will often edit segments after live broadcasts, recently altering the Becky Lynch/Charlotte Flair title exchange for re-runs of the October 22 episode of SmackDown. It is unclear how WWE will edit this segment before it airs on Friday.
