During last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho cut a promo when debuting his new Jericho Appreciation Society faction, and also revealed two AEW stars have new names.
During the promo, tag team 2point0 came to the ring, and Jericho informed us all they would no longer be called Matt Lee and Jeff Parker.
Jericho emphatically stated that 2point0 was a name fans would never hear again as the duo would be going by new names – ‘Big Magic’ Matt Lee is now ‘Daddy Magic’ Matt Minard, and Jeff Parker is now ‘Cool Hand Ange’ Angelo Parker (spellings to be confirmed).
While there has been no confirmation of this report, the general feeling is that the reason for these name changes is that AEW has another, slightly more famous tag team comprising two people called Matt and Jeff.
I am of course talking about Matt and Jeff Hardy, the latter of course debuted on last week’s episode of Dynamite to reunite the Hardy Boyz.
If we get more information on this, we will of course let you know.
