Late last year, Ring of Honor (ROH) announced the company would be taking a hiatus, and that all of its talent would be released from their contracts.
As a result, several of these released stars have shown up in other promotions across the world, but it seems Ring of Honor isn’t quite done just yet.
We now know that a Supercard of Honor show will be held on Friday, April 1, and Fightful Select is now reporting further dates are being planned.
Fightful also reports several new faces are likely to be on the show, with many being announced last night (March 1), with others likely to be announced in the coming weeks. The idea is that these wrestlers will be working the show on a freelance basis rather than under a contract.
The report adds there are tentative plans for shows for the remainder of 2022, with possible TV tapings as well.
In terms of the rumours regarding a possible sale of the promotion, Fightful reports their sources say there have been overtures regarding a possible sale or partnership. However, a “significant” sum of money would have to be on the table if there was to be a sale.
While Fightful has been unable to confirm exactly how much money would be needed, unconfirmed reports of between $20 million and $50 have been mentioned. A sale remains a definite possibility.
