While it was in some ways not surprising at all to hear that Cesaro had decided to let his WWE contract expire last week, it’s still going to be weird not seeing him in a WWE ring again.
A number of WWE stars have shared their thoughts on his departure from the promotion, and now former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has given his thoughts on the matter.
Speaking during an appearance on the Kliq podcast, Drew said he thinks Cesaro will be absolutely fine after leaving WWE due to his talent.
He said:
“That’s a shame. So many people come and go from the company, I’m one of them, and we always see each other down the line, but it sucks more when it’s a friend and somebody that you really want to wrestle. That was my number one match, I think it was his number one match. We’ve both and wrestling for 20 years, but never had a singles match. So we’re gonna be a bit longer, it’ll happen eventually. But, you know, he’s got his family. He’s got his new kid, and he’s going to be just fine. He is far too talented not to be,”
Cesaro himself is yet to make any kind of statement about his departure, but many fans are very excited at the prospect of seeing him in another promotion.
If only WWE’s main rival promotion was holding one of its biggest shows of the year this weekend…
