Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley was removed from the Elimination Chamber match this Saturday, with WWE claiming that he had entered ‘concussion promo’.
The angle was shot to cover for a legitimate shoulder injury that Lashley suffered during his match with Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble, which is set to keep him out of action for around 4 months.
PWInsider has provided an update on Lashley’s injury, confirming that Lashley is set to get looked at in Birmingham, Alabama this week, which is where Dr James Andrews, who handles a number of WWE talent surgeries, is situated.
PWInsider has not confirmed whether or not this means Lashley will miss tonight’s Raw show, but both Famuyide’s report, as well as the report from PWInsider, could likely explain why WWE announced that Lashley ‘suffered a concussion’ and was now under the company’s ‘medical protocol.’
Lesnar’s title victory marks the third time in 2022 that the WWE Championship has changed hands. For a list of all title changes in WWE for 2022, click here.
