A former WWE announcer is set to return to the company, following the departure of a long-time commentator.
Jerry Soto has confirmed on Instagram that he has been re-hired by WWE, and is set to join the Spanish commentary team. Soto was let go by the company in November 2020 due to budget cuts.
Soto will work alongside Marcelo Rodriguez, replacing Carlos Cabrera, who was released from his WWE contract earlier this week, after 29 years with the company. A recent report indicated that the 62-year old was let go because WWE wanted somebody younger behind the Spanish commentary desk.
