Three-time PDC World Darts Champion Michael Van Gerwen has reacted to Pat McAfee’s incredible entrance from WrestleMania 38 Sunday.
McAfee made his entrance to The White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army, the same song that has become iconic in the darts world as Van Gerwen’s entrance music.
2010 PDC Players Champion Paul Nicholson, an avid wrestling fan who used to mimic CM Punk’s entrance during his own walk-ons, saw McAfee’s entrance with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, and shared a tweet that said:
If @MvG180 doesn’t have this entrance at this years @OfficialPDC World Championship then he’s missing a trick
Nicholson quote tweeted that comment with: “You’ve been told @MvG180”, to which Van Gerwen responded by tagging the PDC walk-on dancers and asking if they’d be up for it, seemingly eager to follow in McAfee’s footsteps.
McAfee went on to have an experience he’ll likely never forget – beating Austin Theory with Vince McMahon at ringside, then losing a match against Vince McMahon, then drinking a beer with Steve Austin and ending up on the receiving end of a Stone Cold Stunner.
Meanwhile, Michael Van Gerwen is also on a high after winning a PDC Players Championship event on Saturday, with an 8-4 win in the final over current PDC World Champion and #1 in the world rankings, Peter Wright.
What are you saying @PDCDartsDancers
