Two former WWE performers are currently receiving producer tryouts.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Curtis Axel (Joe Henning) and Ariya Daivari worked on matches for Friday’s (April 8) edition of SmackDown.
Axel reportedly contributed to the Sasha Banks vs Liv Morgan match, under TJ Wilson. The former Intercontinental Champion hasn’t wrestled since being released from his WWE contract in April 2020.
Daivari helped to produce the Drew McIntyre vs Sami Zayn bout, under Abyss. The ex-205 Live name was let go by WWE in June 2021. Ariya’s brother, Shawn Daivari, currently works as a full-time producer in WWE.
It is unclear how long these tryouts will last.
