Samoa Joe has addressed his absence from IMPACT Slammiversary, explaining why he wasn’t featured at the event.
The show was a tribute to the promotion, taking place exactly 20 years following the first TNA live event.
Several notable IMPACT alumni sent in video messages that made the live broadcast, including WWE star AJ Styles and AEW’s Sting.
Samoa Joe has taken to Twitter to note that he wasn’t asked or available to contribute to the show, noting:
Dearest cackling hens. I wasn’t asked, or available, and it should not mar a great milestone set by Impact. Happy Anniversary, and my best going forward to all involved .
Joe is currently the ROH TV Champion, most recently wrestling at AEW Double or Nothing, losing to Adam Cole in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
In the main event of Slammiversary, Josh Alexander successfully defended his IMPACT World Championship against Eric Young.
A number of titles changed hands during the event. You can check out the results from the show right here.
