Backstage details have emerged on a big change made to promo segments over the last few weeks.
It has been well documented that WWE promo segments have typically been heavily scripted, with the likes of Jon Moxley previously criticising the process for not allowing talent to have their own voices shine through.
Per PWInsider, over the last few weeks, WWE has been allowing talent to have more freedom on the mic, letting stars improvise more.
The report also noted that at least a ‘sizable portion’ of the Drew McIntyre vs Sheamus match on the July 29 edition of SmackDown was called in the ring, rather than having every spot laid out to them ahead of the bout.
Following Vince McMahon’s retirement announcement on July 22, it was confirmed that Triple H will now run WWE creative.
The Game received a lot of praise online following SummerSlam on July 30, which was the first WWE premium live event following Vince McMahon’s departure.
Triple H has since taken to social media to express gratitude to WWE staff, talent and fans.
