Carmelo Hayes Teases Joining Returning Faction On SmackDown

A top NXT star has teased joining a returning faction on SmackDown.

As previously mentioned, former Hit Row members Top Dolla and Ashante The Adonis are slated to be at the August 12 edition of SmackDown in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Carmelo Hayes has been one of the fastest rising stars on the NXT 2.0 brand since arriving last year. Now a two-time and reigning North American Champion, he seems destined for huge things on the main roster.

Hayes’ main roster call-up could be coming sooner than most have expected if his social media activity is to be believed.

Back in September 2021, a fan replied to a tweet by the current North American Champion suggesting that he could be a great fit for the Hit Row stable.

Melo replied to the tweet with:

Only if I can be the leader…

On August 12, Carmelo Hayes replied to this one year old tweet with a simple “LOL”, which has led to many fans thinking he could be laughing at the irony.

Hit Row was a prominent faction on NXT prior to the main roster call-up in October 2021, led by Isaiah “Swerve” Scott now known as Swerve Strickland in All Elite Wrestling.

With Strickland in AEW, it isn’t impossible to believe that Triple H may align Hayes with Dolla and Adonis on the main roster. We might just find out as soon as tonight’s SmackDown.
