A top NJPW star has discussed and explained why a dream match with Kenny Omega is a no brainer.
The rivalry between Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay has heated up considerably in the past year, especially after their showdown in the AEW World Trios Championship Tournament on the August 31 edition of Dynamite.
Both men have traded trash talk in interviews and social media lately, only adding to the anticipation for this bout.
Speaking to James Carlin of Monthly Puroreso, Ospreay commented on a potential singles matchup with Omega in the future.
He said:
“He knows one on one it would be a fantastic bout and I can’t tell you enough how much I’d enjoy battering him after everything. The two sides of me are saying: I got the last laugh leaving him and The Young Bucks laying in AEW, so I don’t really care. But the other side says we are both still able to put on those amazing matches still. It’ll almost be stupid of me not to want to face him. See which one of us has the drive to pick up the win.”
Will Ospreay will next compete for New Japan Pro Wrestling, defending the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship against David Finlay at NJPW Burning Spirit on September 25.
