It has been confirmed that the upcoming edition of Smackdown scheduled for November 4 will be pre-taped.
It had previously been theorised that this would be the case as the premium-live-event Crown Jewel will be taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the very next day on November 5.
Logistically, it seemed improbable that staff and crew would perform in the US one night, and Saudi Arabia the next without some serious jet lag and delays.
Dave Meltzer has now confirmed in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that both the October 28 and November 4 edition of Smackdown will be taped on October 28, in St. Louis, MO at the Enterprise Center.
The October 28 episode of SmackDown will air on FS1 rather than FOX. It is not yet clear if this will be the same for the November 4 edition.
Tonight’s SmackDown (October 28) will feature an appearance from the Tribal Chief and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns.
SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey, will be issuing an open challenge for her title during the episode.
Also on the card, Legado Del Fantasma will be taking on Hit Row and a mystery partner. Honorary Uce Sami Zayn is set to team up with Solo Sikoa to take on The Brawling Brutes.
The November 4 episode is set to feature Gunther defending the Intercontinental Championship against Rey Mysterio.
WWE’s plans for SmackDown and NXT around the holiday season have now been revealed. Check out the latest details on these plans right here.
