An injured star returned to WWE NXT albeit in a backstage segment rather than an in-ring return.
During a backstage segment, the leader the D’Angelo family has returned despite the family having radically shrunk in size.
Former faction mates met backstage in an actually quite sweet segment marking the return of Tony D’Angelo.
Tony D’Angelo returned although not to in-ring action rather in a backstage segment with Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo who he praised for an interesting victory.
D’Angelo telling “Stacks” he did a great job getting the Tony D merch moved further forward and getting those t-shirt sales up.
While feeling pretty good about their merch movement, joining them was another recently re-emerged star, Elektra Lopez.
Elektra Lopez told the duo that duo that she was glad to be her own boss and was still just as dangerous alone as with Legado del Fantasma.
After she walked away, “Stacks” seemed to make light of the comment while D’Angelo sweetly affirmed that he believed her.
Elsewhere on tonight’s show, a WWE star on loan to NXT was injured during a match, a recently released star was referenced and an unlikely tag team was formed to get a title shot.
