Luke Gallows has admitted that he and Karl Anderson were ‘offended’ when they were let go by WWE in 2020.
The Good Brothers were released during the April 2020 round of COVID-19 pandemic related cuts. These cuts took place shortly after WrestleMania 36 aired on April 4 and 5.
In the main event of the first night of WrestleMania 36, The Undertaker defeated AJ Styles in a Boneyard match. Gallows and Anderson were both featured in memorable spots in the bout, prior to Undertaker literally burying Styles.
Speaking on After the Bell, Luke Gallows admitted that being released right after WrestleMania 36 didn’t sit right with him and Anderson, noting:
“It’s eleven days removed from this Boneyard match that we got all this praise for. so we didn’t see it coming. It offended him and it offended me too a little bit. We’re eleven days out from main eventing Wrestlemania.”
Gallows and Anderson made their WWE returns on the October 10 edition of Raw, reuniting the OC with AJ Styles.
Anderson notably still holds NJPW’s NEVER Openweight Championship, despite returning to WWE. For the latest update on Anderson’s NJPW status, click here.
