Former AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa has provided an update on her recovery, after recently relinquishing her gold.
Ahead of September’s All Out pay-per-view, Rosa revealed that she had been sidelined with a back injury.
Toni Storm won the interim AEW Women’s Championship at the event and defended it up until November’s Full Gear show, when Jamie Hayter won the gold.
Rosa was officially stripped of the AEW Women’s Title on the November 23 edition of Dynamite, with Hayter becoming the official champion.
Storm’s interim reign was also retroactively made an official reign.
During a recent vlog, Rosa revealed that she is now able to do weight training.
Discussing her recovery, Rosa said:
“The recovery is going really well. I just, this week, I was just able to do squats with a two-pound dumbbell.
“I haven’t done any lifting for the last four or five months, which is huge. Two weeks ago, I was able to do a 5K, which I walked half the way, cause I’m not allowed to run.
“I can jog, that’s pretty much it. Those are big milestones for me. I have not been able to be in the ring yet, so we’re working on that.”
It is currently unclear when Rosa will be ready to return to the ring.
We wish Thunder Rosa a safe and healthy recovery.
