More details have emerged on Bronson Reed’s WWE return, following the December 19 edition of Raw.
During the show, Reed attacked Dexter Lumis during his ladder match with The Miz. Reed sided with Lumis, helping him win the bout.
Prior to his comeback, it was reported as far back as August that WWE was interested in bringing Reed back, following Triple H becoming the company’s Chief Content Officer in August.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Reed was considered a ‘priority hire’ for Triple H after he took over creative.
The report confirmed that Reed has officially signed with WWE. While Reed’s appearance wasn’t explicitly telegraphed on the internal running order for Monday’s show, talent had gained word that the former NXT North American Champion would be returning.
Reed was let go by WWE while with NXT in August 2021. Following his release, Reed, wrestling as JONAH, found success in IMPACT and NJPW.
The former NXT star had an impressive showing in this year’s NJPW G1 Climax tournament, finishing second in his block, and scoring huge victories over several names, including eventual winner Kazuchika Okada.
Reed has since reacted to his WWE return, which you can read more about right here.
