A WWE star reportedly helped Mercedes Mone backstage at NJPW Resurgence 2023 after she appeared to suffer an injury.
During Mone’s NJPW World Women’s Title match against Willow Nightingale at the May 21 show, Mone began to favor her leg.
After the match, she was carried to the back, before it was later reported that the belief was that Mone suffered a broken ankle.
Per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, WWE star Tamina (Snuka) was in attendance at the show to support Mone, and actually helped Mone following her injury, before she went to the hospital.
Mone has since taken to Twitter to address the incident, writing:
WRESTLING!!!!
Phew 😮💨 not how I dreamed for tonight to go.
I’m so sorry and I love you guys so much.
I’m gonna heal and be back better than ever.
