We are now officially less than a week away from the return of CM Punk to All Elite Wrestling, with his return set to take place on the debut episode of AEW Collision this Saturday (June 17).
Punk has not appeared on AEW programming since the infamous AEW All Out media scrum last September, with him and the Elite set to be separated via the launch of Collision.
Speaking with Nick Hausman, new AEW TBS Champion Kris Statlander was asked about Punk’s return, and what it could mean for the company.
Statlander said that she’s only had decent interactions with Punk, and believes that his return is fantastic if it ends up helping the company.
She said:
“I’ve always had decent interactions with him. If this is going to help us out, then that’s fantastic. I can only hope that with all these announcements going on and this new show starting that we only experience positive outcomes from this. Hopefully no negativity happens. We all get frustrated with our jobs sometimes, and that’s understandable, but I do hope that everything that we do going forward is for the better of AEW, and I think that’s the most important thing.”
Punk will main event the first episode of Collision, teaming with FTR against Jay White, Juice Robinson and Samoa Joe.
