An NXT star has appeared on tonight’s WWE SmackDown and teased another main roster matchup in his future as a new Friday feud began.
After Dragon Lee failed to capture the NXT North American Championship against Dominik Mysterio on WWE Raw, he popped up tonight on SmackDown.
At ringside to take in the happenings, Dragon Lee drew the ire of Austin Theory who was having a match against Cameron Grimes.
Cameron Grimes was last seen on WWE television back at SummerSlam in August where he lost in the SummerSlam Battle Royal which was eventually won by LA Knight.
In the end, Theory picked up the win but after the match, approached Dragon Lee at ringside where the pair exchanged words.
Grayson Waller encouraged Theory to move along, saying it was time to leave to go celebrate however Theory remained agitated, and it definitely seems we’ll be getting a Theory vs Dragon Lee match soon – UPDATE: Dragon Lee vs Theory is now confirmed for next week’s October 6 SmackDown.
Lee also remained in the front row to watch Rey Mysterio defend the United States Championship against Santos Escobar.
Dragon Lee will also be the special guest referee at NXT No Mercy tomorrow night as Dominik Mysterio defends the North American Title against Trick Williams.
Just as @CGrimesWWE was gaining momentum on @_Theory1, @GraysonWWE was there to shut him down! 💥🔥
