A WWE star has teased himself and his tag team partner answering Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Tag Championship open challenge on SmackDown.
Following his appearance on this week’s star-studded edition of NXT, Cody Rhodes looked to cap off the week in a massive way, announcing an open challenge for October 13’s SmackDown from Tulsa, OK.
While he had no objections from his partner Jey, he may have also already gotten a response from a pair of brash WWE upstarts, Grayson Waller and Austin Theory.
Posting to Twitter, Waller uploaded a picture of himself and the former United States Champion, marvelling at their spotless record as a tandem (2-0), while also giving a curious nod to the current tag champs.
Waller wrote:
Undefeated *Yeet*
While The Usos have been known to say ‘yeet’ on WWE TV for a while now, the phrase has recently been adopted by Cody too, with fans now beginning to get involved with ‘yeet’ chants.
So, it goes without saying that Waller and Theory could in fact be the ones to step up for tonight’s title match, or at the very least, setting one up for the future if not tonight.
Elsewhere on SmackDown we are set to see the long-awaited return of the man whose last two title defences were against defeated both Jey and Cody, that of course being the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns.
