The final segment of tonight’s December 1 SmackDown saw a special “Bidding War” segment over WWE star Randy Orton.
On tonight’s show, Randy Orton made his return to the SmackDown brand for the first time since May 2022.
Intent on making an impression as SmackDown GM, Nick Aldis decided he wanted to sign Orton to a contract. However, WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce showed up to oppose this and sign “The Apex Predator” to Monday nights.
Pearce offered Orton the winner of Seth Rollins vs. Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship, while Aldis offered him the individuals who took him out, The Bloodline.
Before Orton could make a decision between the two brand, Paul Heyman came out to warn Orton and bring out The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso to attack him.
With the Bloodline having a two-on-one advantage, it didn’t take long before LA Knight came out to even things off and fought up the ramp with Sikoa.
This left Jimmy Uso and Orton in the ring, with Orton landing his draping DDT and then an RKO on Uso.
Orton then told Aldis and Pearce to both hand him the contracts they wanted him to sign and he made his decision.
Staring at Paul Heyman, Orton threw away the Raw contract and officially signed with SmackDown.
Aldis then got in the ring to celebrate with Orton, only for him to be dropped with an RKO as well.
Orton then told Heyman to send a message to Roman Reigns – “Daddy’s back.”
