AEW name Don Callis has reflected on “worshipping” two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair when he was younger.
In October 2023, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair made his AEW debut as a gift from Tony Khan to Sting.
It was later revealed that Flair had signed with All Elite Wrestling and would be part of STing’s retirement tour ahead of AEW Revolution.
On the January 10 Homecoming edition of AEW Dynamite, Sting will team with Darby Allin to face The Don Callis Family’s Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs in a Tornado Tag.
Ahead of Flair and himself being in opposite corners during this Wednesday’s Tornado Tag, Don Callis took to social media to post an old photo of himself dressing like Flair when he was younger. The caption reads:
I once worshipped @RicFlairNatrBoy. Now when I see him I want to beat the shit out of him. I have zero issues punching a senior citizen @AEW
Also announced for Wednesday’s show, Samoa Joe will make his first appearance as AEW World Champion, Ricky Starks will face Sammy Guevara and Hangman Adam Page goes one-on-one with Claudio Castagnoli for the first time.
