An AEW star has filed to trademark their nickname with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).
Per the USPTO, Deonna Purrazzo filed an application on Friday (March 1) to trademark the term “THE VIRTUOSA”.
Purrazzo notably uses “The Virtuosa” as her nickname.
According to the filing, Purrazzo intends for the new trademark to cover use in “categories of entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests”.
The following description accompanied the filing:
Mark For: THE VIRTUOSA™ trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer;
Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network;
Providing online interviews featuring a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes.
Purrazzo officially signed with AEW in January. She previously wrestled for the company in May 2022, losing a ROH Women’s Championship unification match to Mercedes Martinez.
Deonna Purrazzo is set to challenge for Toni Storm’s AEW Women’s Championship at this weekend’s Revolution pay-per-view.
