A new report has revealed how WWE reacted to former AEW World Champion CM Punk swearing on Monday’s edition of Raw.
On the March 25 edition of WWE Raw, CM Punk made his return to WWE programming in front of his hometown of Chicago for a very memorable segment.
After teasing feuds with Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and The Rock, Punk called out Drew McIntyre and got into a heated exchange with his rival.
Seth Rollins soon joined the fray for an electric promo segment that featured all three men taking shots at one another.
Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, noting that WWE production wasn’t expecting CM Punk’s line where he cursed.
Punk’s curse word came after the company sent a memo to talent that discouraged them from swearing on air.
The report notes that there hasn’t been any reported issues backstage after the promos in regards to heat between Punk, Rollins or McIntyre.
The general feeling is that things have continued to appear well with Punk in WWE since his arrival in November 2023.
CM Punk will be on commentary for the Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania 40.
