There are plans for Damage CTRL at WrestleMania 40, though it won’t include the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
At the time of writing, WrestleMania 40 will see the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, Women’s Championship, Women’s World Championship, Intercontinental Championship, Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship and the United States Championship all on the line.
A championship that is missing is Asuka and Kairi Sane’s WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
While IYO SKY will be defending the WWE Women’s Championship against former Damage CTRL leader Bayley, there’s no plans for the Kabuki Warriors to defend there.
Dave Meltzer addressed the plans in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, reporting:
There is right now no women’s tag team title match planned, but there is something with Damage Ctrl.
There isn’t, at the time of writing, any detail as to what that “something” may entail, although recent episodes of SmackDown have seen the group having issues with Naomi and Bianca Belair.
It has been reported that the two-day WWE PLE will have thirteen matches in total, with ten announced so far.
