A much-rumored future WWE signing has made a surprise debut in an another company, ahead of her expected move to the United States.
Reports linking former STARDOM star Giulia with a move to WWE have been rampant for several months, with the former NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion expected to sign with the company once her time in Japan had ended.
While she is now a free agent – with Giulia’s STARDOM contract up at the end of March – there are still questions regarding when she would make the move to WWE.
Reports suggested the 30-year-old’s move to WWE was delayed as she was instead set to assist former STARDOM owner Rossy Ogawa starting up a new promotion following his firing by STARDOM parent company Bushiroad.
While that may still prove to be the case, on her first day as a free agent (April 1) Giulia has now made a surprise debut for Japanese company Pro Wrestling NOAH, making an appearance on the season premiere of their Monday Magic program.
Not only that, but Giulia will also be competing at NOAH’s Wrestle Universe pay-per-view on May 4th, from Ryōgoku Sumo Hall.
Speaking following her debut for NOAH, Giulia explained what led her to the promotion, as translated by Pro Wrestling NOAH Global:
“I’m Giulia, unemployed from today, I quit Stardom yesterday. I came here because I was called.
“The fact that I’m here means that the wrestling world will become more and more interesting, so please look forward to the future Giulia. Arrivederci, see you soon!”
WrestleTalk will continue to provide further updates on Giulia’s potential future move to WWE when they become available.
