With Adam Copeland announcing plans for his retirement, there have been rumors swirling about stars he could face during his farewell tour.

On the October 15 AEW Dynamite/Collision three-hour special Adam Copeland qualified for the Clockwork Carnage match at WrestleDream.

This wasn’t what Copeland made headlines for on this show however, with the WWE Hall of Famer also announcing that 2027 will be his final year as an active wrestler.

With Adam Copeland having just over a year at most before he hangs up his boots, there are only so many more stars he can face before stepping away from the ring for good.

Here are three stars who Copeland has previously named as dream opponents, who could face the Rated-R Superstar during his retirement tour.

Kazuchika Okada

Adam Copeland has considered Kazuchika Okada a dream opponent for years, with the Rated-R Superstar pitching to face the Rainmaker at Wrestle Kingdom back in 2023.

Copeland and Okada will meet in the eight-man Clockwork Carnage match for the AEW World Championship at WrestleDream. Okada defeated Myron Reed on October 14 to qualify for the bout, while Copeland put away Josh Alexander to punch his ticket for the match.

With Copeland and Okada having never faced off in singles action, it’d make a lot of sense to see these two stars go one-on-one in 2027.

As Copeland still needs to check the Tokyo Dome off his venue “white whale” list, a Copeland vs Okada exhibition match at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 21 would kill two birds with one stone.

Kenny Omega

Adam Copeland also previously named Kenny Omega as a star who he wants to wrestle before hanging up the boots, with the duo previously crossing paths on AEW TV.

Following Copeland’s debut in 2023, the Rated-R Superstar appeared in a backstage segment with Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega.

While this segment caused a lot of buzz, Copeland and Omega haven’t shared the ring since, in singles or tag-team action.

With Kenny Omega also at the tail-end of his wrestling career, we could soon see a clash between two of Canada’s finest.

Bryan Danielson

While speaking with Sports Illustrated in October 2023 following his AEW debut, Adam Copeland stated that a singles match against Bryan Danielson was a dream match of his.

Copeland and Danielson’s careers somewhat mirror each other, with both stars forced to retire due to neck injuries, before eventually returning to the ring in WWE, then moving to AEW.

While they have shared the ring on several occasions – notably facing Roman Reigns in three-way action in the main event of WrestleMania 37, and most recently in 12-man tag action on the January 16, 2025 Collision episode – the two stars haven’t went one-on-one since September 2010.

With Bryan Danielson recently returning to action on the Dynamite: A Tribute to Pac show, we could see him make another one-off return to face Adam Copeland on his farewell tour.
