Ahead of PROGRESS Chapter 134: No Mountain High Enough, Axel Tischer (fka Alexander Wolfe) spoke exclusively with Sanchez Taylor for WrestleTalk.com about his return to the independent scene.
In WWE, Tischer teamed with Eric Young and Big Damo (Killian Dain) as SAnitY from 2016 until 2019 when the group disbanded.
Tischer has since reunited with both of his former tag partners on the indie scene, teaming with Eric Young in April at OTT Live in Limerick, and joining forces with Big Damo later that month at PROGRESS Chapter 133.
Reflecting on the reunions, Tischer said:
“(They) felt great. It was awesome, not only awesome just to meet (Dam0) again – last time we saw each other in person was one year ago before I left the States and moved back to Germany, but it felt great. Actually, it felt like we never split up, because, you know, we’re a well-oiled machine in the ring, and outside the ring we click. We’re very very good friends, and I admire him a lot as a friend and as a person, and as a worker as well.
“So, great to see him and great to work with him again, and also hopefully, the future will tell if we have the chance to go again as a team, maybe at PROGRESS, maybe at different promotions. The sky’s the limit, but I would love just to have that experience again.
“And funny also, a couple of weeks before, I met EY (Eric Young) after three years at OTT, Over The Top Wrestling in Ireland, and it felt like the same as we just kind of never split up. We spent so much time on the road, we spent so much time backstage, in the bus, sharing hotel rooms, or sharing AirBnB. One of the beautiful parts of America – sometimes one of the worst parts as well – the bond we created at that time is irreplaceable. It will always be great just to be around those guys.”

Also in the interview, Tischer reacted to WWE renaming WALTER (Gunther) and Marcel Barthel (Ludwig Kaiser), and revealed the bizarre wrestling directive he received from WWE while part of SAnitY.
