9. Doing Nothing With Some Talent They Do Sign
Two of the world’s best right wrestlers in recent years, Dominik Dijakovic and Keith Lee signed with NXT in 2017 and 2018 respectively. Both men are immensely talented and seemed destined for great things when it was revealed that they had signed contracts with WWE’s developmental brand.
Despite that, neither Lee nor Dijakovic have had a match at any NXT Takeover event since they signed, and neither has had a meaningful feud. Granted, some of this is due to both men being incredibly unlikely with injuries, but it also has to do with the fact that NXT does not know what to do with them.
NXT seemingly signs talent for the sake of signing talent, and it is actually to their detriment. Having a stacked roster with the likes of Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano, Matt Riddle and Velveteen Dream is not a bad thing, but it does mean that talented workers like KUSHIDA, Kassius Ohno and the aforementioned Lee and Dijakovic have to sit on the sidelines and miss Takeover events when they have the ability to main event such a show.
