10 WWE Alternatives You NEED To Check Out

10 – Progress Wrestling

Progress Wrestling – is bleedin’ brilliant. This is the top of the top when it comes to indie feds – and where a ridiculous amount of the world’s biggest stars have gone to war with each other.

The only reason I can’t put this higher up the list is because Progress are affiliated with WWE. They’re absolutely not a part of WWE, but they have a working relationship and share certain staff members and talent – mostly with NXT UK.

This is by no means inherently a bad thing, but when there’s a lot of talent crossover, it’s hard to rank it highly as a true alternative.

That said, Progress is quite easily where you’ll find some of the best wrestling on the entire planet. Matches are often brutal – not in the same way you’d see Japanese wrestlers beating the daylight out of each other, but just incredibly grueling, and very technically proficient.

Even their “big lads” like Walter, and Mark Davis have put on some of my favourite matches, ever – both horrifically hard-hitting, and absolutely mesmerising to watch.

Progress was my first taste of indie wrestling, and I absolutely implore you to get to a show, if you can. It’s great to watch on the screen – but being there in person is an experience like nothing else. It’s worth every single penny.
