7 AEW Stars Who Could Follow CM Punk To WWE WWE, AEW

Although under far more controversial circumstances than others, CM Punk has become the latest AEW star to cross the line to WWE, returning to the company after almost a decade away at Survivor Series 2023.

Now, as alluded to, unlike examples like Cody Rhodes and Jade Cargill, Punk’s hand was forced with his AEW firing, however, it does feel like something that is going to become more and more commonplace.

Many feel momentum has shifted since Triple H took creative control over a year ago, with WWE seeming far more appealing than it was towards the end of Vince McMahon’s tenure.

As unpopular as Punk seemed within the AEW locker room he did also have a strong group of stars who he was close with and enjoyed working with, many of which you would imagine could potentially follow him to WWE when they get the chance.

So with that said let’s take a look at 7 AEW stars who are most likely to follow CM Punk out of AEW and into WWE.

7. Scorpio Sky

One of AEW’s most criminally underutilised stars of 2023 has undoubtedly been Scorpio Sky.

Wrestling just six times total for the company since July 2022, the former two-time TNT Champion was finally seeming set for a fresh start when AEW Collision launched in June this year.

Unfortunately that has not been the case at all with Sky now seemingly relegated to ROH and even then it’s been almost two months since he last appeared there too.

Seeing as AEW clearly have absolutely no creative plans for Sky then you would not blame him seeking a move elsewhere and despite being 40-years-old he could certainly still offer a lot to WWE’s mid-card. That is he can get out of AEW ASAP.

The problem is his contract, which will reportedly run until 2026. Given his age it’s kind of now or never for a fresh start, so hopefully AEW either being using him or let him seek work elsewhere.
