We are now mere hours away before All Elite Wrestling returns to San Jose for the AEW Forbidden Door 2026 pay-per-view.

Whether it be a new stipulation to an already announced match or an added bout to the lineup, Forbidden Door could get some alterations before the PPV gets underway.

Here are seven potential late changes to AEW Forbidden Door 2026.

7. Cage & Cope vs. The Dogs AEW World Tag Team Championship Match Gets Falls Count Anywhere Stipulation

On the May 27 edition of AEW Dynamite, The Dogs attacked Christian Cage and Adam Copeland before doing their own five-second pose over their bodies.

In the weeks since, David Finlay and Clark Connors have taunted the champions, which led to Cage and Cope returning to attack them backstage before brawling into the arena on the June 17 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Then, on the June 24 Dynamite, Cage and Cope brawled with The Dogs backstage again with the challengers getting the upper hand.

Now with these two teams set to battle at AEW Forbidden Door 2026, the company would be wise to add a Falls Count Anywhere stipulation to give Cage and Cope full clearance to take the fight all over the arena with The Dogs.

6. Mark Davis AEW National Championship Open Challenge Added To The Buy-In

Since winning the AEW National Championship, Mark Davis has been willing to defend his title against any name from his company or beyond.

“Dunkzilla” has been on a roll as of late, picking up wins over the likes of Ace Austin, Xelhua and Adam Priest.

With AEW Forbidden Door 2026 being a co-promotional event, Davis has the chance to prove himself against any star from one of the other companies.

Whether it be from NJPW or CMLL, Davis could hold himself a National Title open challenge against whoever is ready to step up at Forbidden Door.

5. Jon Moxley vs. Bandido AEW Continental Championship Match Becomes No Time Limit

On the June 17 episode of AEW Dynamite, Brodido defeated The Death Riders in tag team action.

Thanks to this win, Bandido challenged Jon Moxley for the AEW Continental Championship at Forbidden Door 2026.

With Mox accepting this challenge, this is set to be one of the more anticipated bouts on the lineup due to it being a first time singles meeting.

Wanting to make sure the better man wins, Moxley and Bandido could agree to No Time Limit for this Continental Title showdown in San Jose.

4. YOH vs. Speedball Mike Bailey For IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title Added To The Card

At NJPW Dominion 2026, YOH defeated DOUKI to finally win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.

Back in 2023, Speedball Mike Bailey competed in the Best of Super Junior tournament, facing off with the best junior heavyweight talent in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

During that tournament, Bailey pinned then-IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi, but he never received a title shot in the aftermath.

Now three years later, Speedball could step up to challenge YOH for the title in what could be an underrated gem on this AEW Forbidden Door 2026 card.

3. Two-Out-Of-Three Falls Stipulation Added To Kenny Omega vs. Zack Sabre Jr.

With AEW Forbidden Door 2026 on the horizon, Zack Sabre Jr. is back around and has issued a challenge for a potential Match of the Year candidate.

The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion wanted to face Kenny Omega this year, which was quickly accepted by “The Cleaner.”

Omega facing Sabre Jr. will undoubtedly be a memorable encounter that could easily steal the show at Forbidden Door 2026.

Wanting to prove who is the best between these two, Omega vs. ZSJ should get a two-out-of-three-falls stipulation and allow either man to earn a shot at the AEW World Title after this PPV.

2. Everyone Banned From Ringside For Men’s and Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Finals

The Owen Hart Foundation Men’s and Women’s tournaments are set to conclude at the AEW Forbidden Door 2026 pay-per-view.

In the Men’s Finals, Will Ospreay will face Swerve Strickland to determine who will challenge for the AEW World Title in the main event of All In London 2026.

Meanwhile, Mercedes Mone looks to win back-to-back Owen Hart Cups when she faces Maya World with a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship in Wembley Stadium.

To make sure that both matches end in a conclusive manner, Mone vs. World and Ospreay vs. Swerve should have no outside interference, meaning both Owen Cup Finals have everyone banned from ringside.

1. If Team DCMJF Win The Steel Cage Match, Don Callis Family Get One Shot At AEW World Title

On the road to AEW Forbidden Door 2026, Mark Briscoe has stepped up as a top contender for the AEW World Title.

After MJF kept denying his challenges, Briscoe went to Tony Khan to get a 12-Man Tag Steel Cage Match at Forbidden Door where if he wins, he gets a shot at the gold.

This led to MJF forming an alliance with The Don Callis Family to fill out his team, while Briscoe recruited The Conglomeration, Konosuke Takeshita and Darby Allin.

Since the group only agreed for the money and promise of an opportunity, AEW could add another stake with if Team DCMJF win, then the Callis Family will get one shot at his title and further add drama in their ranks with several stars wanting that opportunity.
