7 Potential Next Moves For Edge After Last Match On WWE Contract

7 Potential Next Moves For Edge After Last Match On WWE Contract AEW/WWE

WWE Hall of Famer Edge has been the talk of the wrestling world over the past few days, when it was revealed that his WWE contract will expire soon.

Edge’s match with Sheamus on the August 18 episode of SmackDown was the last on his current WWE contract, which is set to expire at the end of September.

There are still some questions about his wrestling future, and what, if anything, is next for the Rated R Superstar following his apparent retirement on August 18.

Here are seven next possible steps for Edge now that he’s wrestled the last match on his contract.

7. Re-Signs With WWE

The first option we must go over is that Edge’s last match on his deal may simply have been his last match in Toronto, and there’s always a possibility of him signing a short-term extension to retire at WrestleMania 40.

While the backstory, opponent and location made perfect sense to be the final match of the Rated R Superstar on August 18, it all sort of came out of nowhere.

Sure, there’s a chance that this was how he wanted it to come to an end, with this run being solely about him ending things on his terms, but the build up of only a week? Seems odd.

There are still numerous names in WWE Edge never got to face off against, so I don’t think he’s done everything possible, plus the story of the World Heavyweight Championship is too good to pass up.
