To open the show, we had Eli Drake announce that he’s cashing in his Feast or Fired case next week. This sets up a match between Drake and Pentagon Jr, which has all the reason in the world to be a great match.
So far, with Pentagon Jr, we’ve been lucky enough to not have an overabundance of championship matches since he won the title. Impact do tend to be a bit heavy on using championship matches to build the strength of their current champion. Unfortunately, it often has the opposite effect, devaluing the title instead.
I can’t see Pentagon Jr losing the title to Drake next week, but I don’t think he will be holding it for long. It’s clear that Impact doesn’t know what to do with him, or aren’t able to do much with him, meaning the title should really be with someone else.
