On the July 13 edition of Monday Night Raw, a video package aired to tease and hype up the return of Big Cass to WWE on the August 3 Raw after SummerSlam 2026.

With the former AEW World Tag Team Champion on his way back, there could be more former titleholders from All Elite Wrestling looking to follow in the former Big Bill’s footsteps.

From former WWE names making their return to upstarts looking for a big opportunity in the limelight, the company could potentially acquire several former major AEW stars in the coming weeks to months.

Here are eight more former AEW champions to potentially sign with WWE soon.

8. Scorpio Sky

Scorpio Sky was one half of the first ever AEW World Tag Team Champions alongside Frankie Kazarian, and is a two-time TNT Champion

At the very beginning of All Elite Wrestling, Scorpio Sky became one of the first breakout stars and was one half of the inaugural AEW World Tag Team Champions.

Being a two-time TNT Champion as well, Sky is someone who could have been a prominent star for the company, but thanks to start-and-stop pushes and injuries, this has not been the case.

With his recent comments about lack of TV time on AEW programming, Sky could be looking for new opportunities when his contract expires soon.

Scorpio Sky has the skill and ability to be a reliable in-ring performer for any promotion in the world and could play several different roles for WWE if given the chance to succeed.

7. Billy Gunn

Another AEW original that has been with the company since the start is Billy Gunn.

While he started as a coach and producer, Gunn has been an in-ring worker and on-screen character at various times in the promotion.

Over the past seven years, Gunn is a former AEW World Trios Champion with The Acclaimed’s Max Caster and Anthony Bowens, while also having an impressive singles record on his own.

Despite still being in amazing shape, Gunn might have a more long term role if he decides to leave AEW to head back to WWE to work a backstage position down the line.

6. Max Caster

Speaking of Billy Gunn, Max Caster was one half of The Acclaimed alongside Anthony Bowens.

Placed together on the fly, The Acclaimed became one of the most successful tag teams in AEW history, accumulating over 65 wins as a duo.

The former AEW World Tag Team and Trios Champions have since split with Bowens joining The Opps, while Caster has not been seen on the company’s television in months.

Considering his lengthy absence, Caster might need to start anew in WWE where his mic skills and charisma would allow him to shine or stand out in his own way.

5. Keith Lee

When it comes to absent AEW stars, no one on the roster has been away from the company’s programming longer than Keith Lee.

‘The Limitless One’ came into All Elite Wrestling in 2022 and immediately became one of the most popular stars on the roster.

The former AEW World Tag Team Champion has not been seen on television in over two years and it remains a mystery why his absence has lasted this long.

With everything he accomplished in the company in his previous stint, Lee feels like someone who can come into WWE with a ton of momentum and can fill a spot as a monster heel if he decides to leave AEW.

4. Wardlow

Wardlow is a three-time AEW TNT Champion

Another AEW star who has not been featured on television in over a year is Wardlow.

The three-time TNT Champion has always been looked at as a prospect for his look, size and athleticism.

With nearly seven years of experience on national television, Wardlow could come into WWE with a lot of attention thanks to his time in AEW as well as his recent run on The American Gladiators reboot.

Considering all the things that point to him one day heading to the promotion, it just makes sense for Wardlow to sign with WWE when his AEW deal expires.

3. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen)

On the February 11 episode of AEW Dynamite, Private Party made their return to the company after over a year away due to injury.

It looked like Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen were back to stay, but their comeback did not last too long before injuries led to another absence.

After being sidelined yet again, Zay and Quen might determine they need a change of scenery when their AEW contracts eventually expire.

Private Party heading to WWE could go a long way in rebuilding the company’s tag team division in a significant way alongside the likes of The Usos, Street Profits and Fraxiom.

2. Britt Baker

Back in 2024, Dr Britt Baker DMD made her return to All Elite Wrestling in the summer, but she was eventually abruptly written off television in November of that same year.

After nearly two years away from the promotion, there have been a ton of questions and concerns surrounding the situation with Baker.

Considering her past issues and rumors behind-the-scenes since signing with AEW in 2019, it might be the right time for both the company and Baker to go their separate ways.

With many fans stating that her strengths fit the company better, Baker could be a natural fit and might find instant spotlight upon signing with WWE when she eventually becomes a free agent after leaving AEW.

1. FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler)

The latest big time AEW talent that have been mentioned in rumors as receiving some interest from WWE when their contract expires are FTR.

In 2020, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, then known as The Revival, were granted their release from WWE and eventually signed with All Elite Wrestling months later.

Becoming FTR, Harwood and Wheeler would cement their legacy as one of the greatest tandems in pro wrestling history by becoming three-time AEW World Tag Team Champions as well as capturing gold in NJPW, AAA and Ring of Honor.

With a litany of instant classics of the past seven years with the likes of The Young Bucks, Brodido and The Briscoes, FTR could be ready to head back to WWE for a huge payday to be the centerpiece of their tag scene if they decide to leave AEW in 2027.
