On Sunday, August 30, WWE NXT will hold its second premium live event on The CW with Heatwave 2026.

As part of a six-hour block of action with Lucha Libre AAA, this show will be a big one for the brand as it is on the same day as AEW All In London 2026.

Considering the high profile competition, it should be interesting to see what WWE adds to the card for the Heatwave PLE.

Here are our predictions for the card for WWE NXT Heatwave 2026.

Zaria (c) vs. Lizzy Rain vs. Izzi Dame – NXT Women’s North American Championship

Zaria has finally captured gold on the WWE NXT brand and has proven herself to be everything she believes she is.

In recent weeks, Zaria has found herself with several names on the NXT roster coming after her NXT Women’s North American Championship.

Prior to her title win, Zaria crossed paths with Lizzy Rain who became an obstacle for her to overcome on her way to the championship, while Izzi Dame has placed her sights back on the title she once held.

Zaria defending the NXT Women’s North American Championship in a triple threat could make for an intriguing bout on the Heatwave 2026 card and allow both Dame and Rain one of their biggest opportunities so far.

Myles Borne (c) vs. Jackson Drake – NXT North American Championship

At WWE NXT Great American Bash 2026, Myles Borne defeated Tavion Heights to retain the NXT North American Championship.

Looking to apologize to his longtime friend, Heights came out on the July 7 edition of WWE NXT to call out Borne, but he got The Vanity Project led by Jackson Drake instead.

Drake was none too pleased with Heights after a loss to him cost The Vanity Project member a shot at the NXT North American Championship.

With a tag team match seemingly set up after the champion came out to help Heights against The Vanity Project, this bout could lay the groundwork for Borne to defend his title against Drake at the NXT Heatwave 2026 show.

The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes) (c) vs. Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno – NXT Tag Team Championship

Speaking of The Vanity Project, Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes have proven themselves to be formidable titleholders.

In recent weeks, a new duo has emerged and looked to make a name for themselves in the NXT tag team scene and that is the combination of Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno.

After being denied their spot in the number one contender’s four way match, it feels like WWE will tell the story of Dar and Moreno earning their opportunity against Smokes and Baylor.

Noam and Romeo going after the gold should make for a compelling story that would elevate their pairing and prove to be a difficult challenge for The Vanity Project come NXT Heatwave 2026.

Saquon Shugars vs. Dion Lennox – Steel Cage Match

At WWE NXT Great American Bash 2026, Saquon Shugars defeated Dion Lennox. After the match, DarkState jumped and laid out Shugars.

Since then, Shugars has been looking for a way for him to get some revenge on his former stablemates.

After his recent win over Lennox, there might be room for Shugars to get one final battle against DarkState at the WWE NXT Heatwave 2026 premium live event.

Shugars challenging Lennox to a Steel Cage Match would make for an ideal blowoff to their personal rivalry, putting this story around DarkState to bed in Texas.

Kendal Grey (c) vs. Kelani Jordan – NXT Women’s Championship

Over the past few months, Kendal Grey and Kelani Jordan have developed a very entertaining rivalry.

Through their matches on WWE NXT, Grey and Jordan have elevated the level of skill and ability on display in the women’s division on Tuesday nights.

After her latest win over Jordan, Grey went on to defeat Lola Vice to win the NXT Women’s Championship at WWE NXT Great American Bash 2026.

Following months of frustration and complaints about never getting her opportunity, it might finally be time for Kelani Jordan to challenge for the NXT Women’s Championship against her rival at NXT Heatwave 2026.

Tony D’Angelo (c) vs. Naraku – NXT Championship Street Fight

Tony D’Angelo was able to turn back the challenge of Naraku for the NXT Championship at WWE NXT Great American Bash 2026.

Not one to rest on his laurels or let that loss stick, Naraku viciously attacked D’Angelo with poison mist to his good eye following a fireball to the other eye and an assault with a steel chair.

This should set the stage for Naraku to challenge Tony D for the gold one more time at WWE NXT Heatwave 2026.

Looking to sit at the mountaintop of the brand, Naraku may only get this one last shot, so it would be wise to make this rematch a Street Fight to give him a better shot at taking the gold from D’Angelo on August 30.
