Tag-teams to reunite in WWE: Three former tandems which could be reformed following Penta & Rey Fenix of the Lucha Brothers

With The Vision holding the World Tag Team Championship, and The MFTs being WWE Tag Team Champions, there have been rumors swirling about new contenders for both titles.

There are a number of stars in WWE who we could see reunite with their former tag-team partners in the coming weeks, for one reason or another.

Following Penta and Rey Fenix coming together again in AAA, WWE has many more duos it could reform, from teams who used to wrestle together in other companies, to top main eventers who cut their teeth in the tag division.

Here are three teams we could see reunite in WWE soon.

Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin is currently at a loose end, after losing to United States Champion Trick Williams in their Steel Cage match on the September 25 SmackDown episode.

With Corbin now out of contention for the blue brand’s midcard championship, we could see him reunite with a friend to pursue tag-team gold.

Corbin and Breakker teamed together during the Lone Wolf’s previous visit to NXT, with the tandem even holding the NXT Tag Team Championship for 55 days.

While Breakker currently holds the World Tag Team Championship alongside Austin Theory in The Vision, as was shown by his betrayal of Seth Rollins last year, the former Intercontinental Champion is not afraid of changing allegiances when it suits him.

Finn Balor & Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura has made it his mission to take down The MFTs, even bringing Kyoki (Hiromu Takahashi) into the company as part of his mission to dethrone Tama and Talla Tonga.

The WWE Tag Team Champions got the better of Nakamura and Kyoki on the September 18 SmackDown episode, with Haku helping the duo to stand tall, following their match ending via disqualification.

Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura are former allies through the RISE group in NJPW, with the duo standing side by side in matches from December 2006 to March 2009.

After losing in his own Money in the Bank qualifier, Finn Balor could help to even the odds against the MFTs, allowing Nakamura to finally get his revenge on Tama and Talla Tonga.

Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins

Roman Reigns defeated Seth Rollins to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of SummerSlam.

This match marked the end of Reigns and Rollins’ long-term feud, with the OTC refusing to strike his former tag-team partner with a chair, and fist-bumping him after the match.

Both Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins’ first title on the main roster was the WWE Tag Team Championship, with the duo winning the gold together for 148 days in 2013.

Whether they go for tag-team gold again, or become allies in the upcoming Survivor Series WarGames match, it’d be interesting to see the former Shield teammates making their entrance together once again.
