10 – Session Moth Martina

The Session Moth has started to get around a fair bit – starting out in Ireland, she now works all over the world, wrestling matches anywhere from little indie feds in the UK – right up to Stardom in Japan, as part of the Oedo Tai faction. It’s a fantastic time for women in the professional wrestling industry, and Martina’s often crude yet hilarious antics help represent a type of character we might not have seen as often maybe ten, or twenty years ago.

At a recent Breed show in Sheffield, she got ahold of a pint, and everything descended in to chaos. Wrestlers started dancing in the ring, Darude – Sandstorm blared out from the speakers – and she gets up to these sort of antics on a regular basis. She’s fantastically fun to watch, and easily adds a good bit of excitement to any card she’s on – and she’s by no means unskilled in the ring, either. Make a real effort to go and see her perform, if you can. It’s definitely worth doing.
