Three New WWE Free Agent Signings

The free agent market currently hosts a wide array of talent, with many of the names being WWE alumni released from their contracts in 2026.

While WWE has let a lot of talent go, they continue to recruit new faces to their developmental system and be linked with names from other companies.

Here are three potential new WWE free agent signings we could see in the near future.

Enzo Amore

Back in May, it was reported that Enzo Amore was spotted at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

Later that same month it was reported that Amore was in fact set to return and sign on with the NXT brand, and along with Big Cass departing AEW, it appeared as if a reunion of one of the 2010s most popular tag teams was on the cards.

What instead happened however, was Cass arriving back in WWE on his own as a monster heel, while any talk of Enzo following him went silent.

There has been no updates on Amore’s WWE return since, but considering Cass’ rather tepid arrival on Raw it may not be long before the company gives ‘Smacktalker Skywalker’ a call.

Anthony Bowens

Keeping on the theme of popular tag teams split up, The Acclaimed’s Anthony Bowens and Max Caster failed to find their footing as singles stars after the split of their popular tandem in early 2025.

While Bowens has managed to remain present on AEW TV throughout 2026 (unlike Caster) as a member of The Opps, it was this week reported by Fightful that Bowens’ contract with AEW was due to be coming up in October.

A follow up report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed that WWE had at least “some interest” in signing Bowens, so we could potentially see him land there if he and AEW part ways.

It’s worth noting that Caster’s AEW deal is also up in October, but there has been no indication that WWE are interested in signing him on along with Bowens.

Leon Slater

Considering Leon Slater is potentially on the verge of becoming the youngest TNA World Champion in history at Bound for Glory 2026 on October 11, it feels a little strange putting him on this list.

However, it has been reported by Fightful that ‘The Youngest in Charge’ is only contracted to TNA until the end of this year, so until things change he must be considered a potential WWE signee in waiting.

This is because WWE have already given Slater a taste of what could come his way should he sign on with the company. In 2025 they featured the English star on the card of John Cena’s final WWE match, where he, along with Je’Von Evans shared the ring with the legendary AJ Styles. Slater also received title opportunities against Carmelo Hayes on SmackDown and Oba Femi at NXT New Year’s Evil back in January.

While he may potentially recommit to TNA if he wins the World Title, much like it did with Jordynne Grace, Joe Hendry and Mike Santana (Cruz Montana) it does feel somewhat inevitable that Slater swaps the Impact Zone for the WWE Performance Center before too long.
