Kevin’s Thoughts: Since the last update, more participants in each of the ladder matches have been revealed but the odds remain identical at the top. The Miz, Big E, and Braun Strowman round out the top 3 for the men while Charlotte Flair and Ember Moon top it for the women. Kevin Owens and Alexa Bliss have made the largest strides since the May 12th update. Kevin Owens was not in the top 10 (+1400) on May 12th but has skyrocketed to the 4th place slot at +500 this week. Similarly, Alexa Bliss was not in the top 1o (+1400) on May 12th but has hot up to 3rd place at +350.
One more interesting observation regarding the ladder matches. I find it super interesting Asuka is still listed at +550 despite having a championship match against Carmella. Ronda Rousey was listed at +1100 on May 12th and currently is not even listed as an option. This is either an ‘oversight’ by the Sportsbook which is just code for “let’s leave Asuka there and see if we can pick up some free money” or maybe there’s something special being planned.
Moving onto the championship matches, Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey are currently a ‘pick-em’ (-110 each). These odds are way closer than anyone could have imagined. Even if Nia were to retain, you think she’d do it on the back of a DQ or something which would still give the ‘win’ to Rousey. This will be an interesting one to watch. Similarly, Asuka is a heavy favorite over Carmella. The power of the DQ and the fact that Asuka still has Money in the Bank odds has me scratching my head.
Finally, poor Shinsuke Nakamura. We thought maybe he would get his chance to shine come WrestleMania 34. Then Greatest Royal Rumble. He opens at +175 here, implied odds of about 36.36%.
