WWE Royal Rumble 2020 Preview: Start Time, How To Watch, Match Card, Predictions

Andrade (c) vs. Humberto Carrillo – United States Championship

One of the matches that has been announced for the Royal Rumble and could easily be moved to the kickoff show is Andrade vs. Humberto Carrillo for the United States Championship.

Prediction: Andrade

It has been reported that Andrade and Humberto Carrillo are being pencilled in for a long and serious feud on Monday Night Raw, so I expect the duo to have a series of matches over the coming months.

After winning the United States Championship from Rey Mysterio last month, it is clear that Andrade is being pushed by Paul Heyman on Raw, so I don’t expect him to drop the belt so soon.

This match could be very good if given time, and I believe Andrade will walk out with the win, possibly with the help of Zelina Vega.

Bayley (c) vs. Lacey Evans – SmackDown Women’s Championship

After defeating Bayley in a singles match on the 01/17 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Lacey Evans earned the right to challenge the SmackDown Women’s Champion for her title at the Royal Rumble.

Prediction: Bayley

Although Lacey Evans is arguably on the run of her career right now as a babyface, I don’t think now is the time for WWE to have her win her first title.

Bayley is also doing great work as a heel, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see her hold the championship until WrestleMania where she will defend against best friend Sasha Banks.

Shorty G vs. Sheamus

In what will be his first televised match in nearly a year, Sheamus is set to take on Shorty G at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

Prediction: Sheamus

This is arguably one of the easiest matches to predict. WWE clearly wants to push Sheamus and I don’t see him losing in his first match back, especially to Shorty G.

I also don’t think this match is going to go particularly long. With several matches booked for the show, including two one-hour rumble matches, I think this one could be a ten-second squash, with Sheamus immediately hitting a Brogue Kick for the win.
