There is no doubt that WWE SummerSlam 2026 will be one of the biggest premium live events of the year.

With this being a two-night show, it’s interesting to see how many noteworthy names from the roster will not be on the card.

Whether it be due to injury or not being active at this time, there are several former champions and future Hall of Famers who will not compete in Minneapolis.

Here are seven WWE stars to potentially miss SummerSlam 2026.

7. Stephanie Vaquer

After losing the WWE Women’s World Championship to Liv Morgan at WrestleMania 42, Stephanie Vaquer was sidelined with a shoulder injury.

“La Primera” had established herself to be one of the top stars in the WWE women’s division since getting called up to the main roster.

Vaquer’s absence has led to a lack of challengers for Morgan, but she will defend the title against IYO SKY at SummerSlam 2026.

Meanwhile, it looks like Vaquer will miss this year’s ‘Biggest Party of the Summer’ unless she makes her return for some revenge on Liv.

6. Rey Mysterio

On the July 27 episode of WWE Raw, Ethan Page picked up a win over Rey Mysterio.

This marked Mysterio’s first match back after suffering an injury against Page in their previous meeting.

The WWE Hall of Famer is someone who is still at the top of his game despite being 51 years old.

Mysterio missing WWE SummerSlam 2026 seems to be the case despite his active role on the company’s programming across Raw and Lucha Libre AAA.

5. The Vision (Bron Breakker, Austin Theory, Logan Paul & Maxxine Dupri)

On the July 6 edition of Monday Night Raw, The Vision’s Bron Breakker and Austin Theory defeated Street Profits to win the WWE World Tag Team Championships.

Over the past few weeks, The Vision have been even more prominent than ever before with the recent addition of Maxxine Dupri.

While they have been feuding with Maxxine’s former Alpha Academy stablemates, Breakker and Theory defeated Otis and Akira Tozawa in a non-title match on the July 27 WWE Raw.

Considering their role on WWE Raw, The Vision being absent from SummerSlam 2026 feels like an omission to the card.

4. Becky Lynch

At WWE Clash In Italy 2026, Sol Ruca defeated Becky Lynch to win the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

After this loss and coming up short in the Queen of the Ring tournament, Lynch has been absent from WWE TV over the past month and a half.

‘The Man’ is still one of the biggest and most decorated female stars in WWE history.

Following the past year where she has been a featured star on a majority of the premium live events, Becky missing WWE SummerSlam 2026 is interesting and might see her make a return following the show.

3. Drew McIntyre

After his loss to Jacob Fatu in an Unsanctioned Match at WWE WrestleMania 42, Drew McIntyre has been missing from the company’s television over the past few months.

‘The Scottish Warrior’ remains one of the most prominent stars on the roster and a multi-time WWE World Champion.

With everything he has accomplished, it is hard to imagine McIntyre not being on the WWE SummerSlam 2026 card if he were active.

Considering the show is just days away, it looks like McIntyre will miss this year’s SummerSlam, making fans wait a little longer for his return.

2. Randy Orton

Another WWE star who has remained absent from the company’s programming over the past few months is Randy Orton.

Following his loss to Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42, Orton has been on the sidelines with no signs of his return.

Considering his status as one of the legendary names on the WWE roster, Orton feels like a notable missing star from SummerSlam this year.

With the way he closed Mania knocking out Rhodes with a Punt Kick, it would not be shocking to see Orton make his return at WWE SummerSlam 2026 in Minneapolis.

1. Rhea Ripley

At the WWE Clash In Italy 2026 premium live event, Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill to retain the WWE Women’s Championship.

During this match, Ripley suffered a torn meniscus that has had her on the shelf in the weeks since then.

Despite being sidelined, WWE decided to not strip Ripley of the title and instead will crown an interim champion on Night Two of SummerSlam 2026.

Ripley missing SummerSlam is unfortunate, but there is a chance for ‘Mami’ to make an appearance to preview a potential WWE Women’s Championship unification match down the line.
