Nick Aldis has shared an update on his ring gear and presentation at WWE SummerSlam 2026.

For the first time since debuting on WWE TV as SmackDown General Manager back in October 2023, Nick Aldis will be stepping into a WWE ring to compete at Night One of SummerSlam 2026, as he goes one-on-one with ‘The Ring General’ GUNTHER.

With Aldis not competing inside a wrestling ring in three years, and never once being treated as a WWE superstar, one of the burning questions heading into this weekend is in regards to the former NWA and TNA World Champion’s entrance and ring gear.

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Aldis shared an “exclusive” piece of news regarding his presentation at SummerSlam, revealing that he has asked WWE for gear reminiscent of his run as ‘The National Treasure’ in NWA.

When asked if he’s put much thought into his WWE presentation, Aldis responded:

“Yeah, of course. This is WWE. I’ve been very, very flattered and humbled by, for example, when I said like gear, attire. I want Nick Aldis: The National Treasure. So there’s a little exclusive for you because I know there’s been a lot.

“There’s been some speculation about like, is he gonna wrestle in a suit? Stupid. Can you imagine?

“But again, I understand. Like sure, when I was a kid, nothing else outside WWF meant sh*t to me. I appreciated all the height of WCW and all that after the fact. At the time, I was like 10 at the peak of WCW. To me, I was like, That’s not the WWF.”

Nick Aldis’ run as ‘The National Treasure’ saw him hold the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion for a total of 1309 days across two separate reigns.

A “Crash Course” On Nick Aldis’ In-Ring Career Potentially Being Planned Ahead Of WWE SummerSlam

With Aldis’ entire in-ring career spent outside of WWE, Raj Dhesi (Jinder Mahal) recently called for the company to put together some form of video package to fill fans in on the SmackDown GM’s exploits inside the squared-circle.

And, according to Aldis himself, something like this may be in the works before SummerSlam, with the English star teasing some form of “crash course” on his career during his chat with Chris Van Vliet.

Aldis said:

“I think we need to document my career. I believe that is in the works. I think it’s a bit of a crash course for the WWE universe. Is this is who this guy was before he came here? I think that’s necessary.

“Fortunately, there’s quite a good relationship with TNA and I believe with the NWA as well. So hopefully we can put together something compelling and substantial that really helps sort of fill that gap for people who don’t know, and the rest is up to me.”
