WWE UK Championship Tournament Night 2: Review

Adam Cole bt. Wolfgang to retain the NXT North America Championship

ADAM COLE BAY BAY.

What a man. The crowd absolutely loves him, despite him obviously being the heel in every situation and match.

Massive Wolfgang reminds me of a young Big Show, who was originally billed as this giant high-flyer before being told to put on the pounds to become a giant.

You won’t see many men the size of Wolfgang attempting moonsaults and Swanton Bombs I can tell you that.

This was a really good match, with both men getting a lot of good offence in. It was the right result too, as Wolfgang isn’t quite ready to be given a title, particularly the North America belt.

The match finished with a shining wizard to the back of Wolfgang’s head. Despite this, it looks like WWE have big things planned for Wolfgang – why else would they put him in a match with someone that could be the future of WWE?

Aleister Black and Ricochet bt. EC3 and Velveteen Dream

Question: If EC3 is in the top 1%, does that mean there are 70million others like him on the planet? Because that’s actually not that impressive.

What was impressive however was this match. You had the insanely gifted team of Black and Ricochet, leaping around the ring with reckless abandon, and then the charismatic duo of Velveteen dream and EC3.

Dream is fast becoming one of my favourite wrestlers in the world. He’s another one who is far too talented for his age, and if given the right story lines and allowed to develop his character even more, could be a star of the future.

Both teams worked incredibly well together, and although quite clearly the weakest in-ring performer, I enjoyed EC3’s performance more than I have any of his other matches since his return to NXT.

But unfortunately for EC3, one team worked better than the other, and after injuring his knee, Dream walked out on the big orange man, leaving him open to the black mass and the pinfall for Aleister Black.

The intriguing part came after the match however, as Ricochet went to hand Black his title and paused. OMG THIS IS THE NEXT TITLE FEUD.

Someone hold me and call me Susan.
