6. Nakamura wins the Rumble, will challenge AJ Styles at WrestleMania
The oddsmakers nailed it. Shinsuke Nakamura became the favorite to win the men’s Royal Rumble as the previous week wore on, and he did indeed win after tossing both John Cena and Roman Reigns. Nakamura makes Japan the fifth country to be represented by a Rumble victor, following USA, Canada, Mexico, and Ireland.
Afterward, Nakamura announced he would be challenging for AJ Styles’ WWE Championship come WrestleMania 34. The two had previously faced off at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s WrestleKingdom 10, the event in which both men gave notice that would be leaving for WWE.
