AEW
An AEW star has teased an imminent return, having been absent from action due to injury for just over seven months.
Last competing back in July of last year, Dustin Rhodes has since undergone double knee replacement surgery and has been rehabbing for an in-ring return.
The former TNT Champion has now given an indication that his return to the ring is imminent, sharing an update on Twitter that simply read:
“Soon!!!! @AEW”
The post was accompanied by a photo of Dustin Rhodes in his familiar red and black ring gear and accompanying face paint.
In a new interview with Fox News Digital, Dustin Rhodes said he’ll be back in AEW in “probably” two or three weeks. Rhodes had previously suggested he could return to action in March.
The AEW star was recently in the United Kingdom for the Crufts dog show, entering his Mastiff named Beast in the competition.
At the time of his injury, Rhodes held the ROH World Tag Team Champion with Sammy Guevara, who would go on to represent the title as a member of La Faccion Ingobernable with Rush and then The Beast Mortos.
He was also one-third of the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions with Marshall & Ross von Erich, with Sammy Guevara stepping in to defend the title in a losing effort at Death Before Dishonor in August of last year.
